SALINAS BOYS CUSTOMS
There are bike builders and then there are artists. Ones that don't build bikes to be used as decoration in the lobbies of fortune 500 companies. The true artist won't emulate the work of another. Instead they develop their own vision of art; more specifically... a motorcycle.
This sled was constructed by the clique at Salinas Boys Customs. First name that pops into your mind is, of course, Cole Foster, pound for pound among the best to ever put a hammer to steel. A true artist in his own right and not just of motorcycles but kustom cars. Although Cole did put his touch on this one off bike, it was his protégé Aaron Elliot who ultimately saw it through. Another helping hand came from the owner of the bike and former employee at Salinas Boys, Andrew Quinones. Look him up at Quinones Photos. It is Andrew that we have to thank and give credit for the 35mm pics he lent us for the post at Chopper Chronicles.
The skeleton is an OG Denver Mullins frame de-raked by Cole to 29 degrees to get that signature Salinas stance.
The original mock up included a cone shovel, but was later upgraded before completion to a 1960 Pan with a matching ratchet top 4 speed .
Andrew tells us that it took 5 years to get this bike to the mean streets of Las Vegas, god knows it isn't cheap stock piling vintage Harley parts to build a legit bike such as this. He also had to give some extra lovin' to his ole lady who helped out with the panhead transplant towards the end of the build.
